Seaside Pride, being organized by many of the same volunteers who have grown the now-annual Toms River Pride event into one of the largest LGBT celebrations in the state, will come to the boardwalk for the first time this summer.

With the hopes of starting a new tradition, Seaside Pride will primarily partner with borough business owners and hold events the weekend of June 21-22, with support from the borough for the use of its stage and some nearby displays. While not a “parade,” the weekend will see numerous events at local bars, restaurants and other businesses.

“They’ll have some tables near the stage and such, and it’s an organization that’s putting it all together who are partnering with businesses – people who have done this before and know how to get it all together,” said Mayor Anthony Vaz. “They’re really promoting it and doing all the legwork.”
