Seaside Park Police Blotter: Automotive Activities, Keeping the Peace, Bolting on a Check

Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, showing a number of calls to which the department responded over the past week. The department handled a total of 298 calls for service.

Vehicle Burglary – Police responded to the area of Stockton Ave. and Ocean for a report of a vehicle burglary. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who stated their parked, unlocked vehicle was burglarized and some personal items were taken. Officers gathered all the information needed to generate a report. The area was checked for any cameras that could have captured the incident, but none were located that would have been helpful.

Disturbance – Police were dispatched to the area of L St. and Ocean for a verbal argument between a male and female who the caller stated the male was blocking her vehicle in and wouldn’t let her leave. Officers arrived and separated the individuals involved and investigated the situation. It was determined to have only been a verbal altercation and police were able to mediate the situation and both parties went their separate ways peacefully.

Theft – Police responded to the area of 8th and Central Ave. for a report of a male and female who ate a meal and left without paying their bill. Police arrived and spoke to the caller who was able to give a possible license plate of the offender’s vehicle. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report. Complaint procedures were explained, and this matter is still under investigation.

Borough Ordinance Violation – While on patrol in the area of Farragut and Ocean Officers observed a male urinating in public. Officers made contact with the individual and advised him of the violation and he was issued a borough summons for the infraction.

Borough Ordinance Violation – While on patrol in the area of Farragut and Ocean Officers observed an occupied motor vehicle with a male and female engaged in consensual sexual relations inside. Police made contact with the subjects and advised them of the violation and a borough summons was issued for the infraction.



Borough Ordinance Violation – While on patrol in the area of municipal lot three Police observed a vehicle with three males sleeping inside. Officers made contact with the subjects and advised them of the violation. Each was issued a borough summons for infraction.

Carbon Monoxide Alarm – Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the area of O St. and Central for a carbon monoxide alarm activation. Officers arrived and made sure all occupants were out in fresh air. The fire company arrived and checked the residence with their equipment and deemed it to be safe and it was determined that the alarm was set off by a faulty detector.

Keep the Peace – Police were called to the area of Stockton and Central for a caller who wanted to pick up some personal belongings from a friend he used to reside with. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller as well as the resident. Officers stood by and the caller was able to gather their belongings without incident.

First Aid – Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to assist a victim who was experiencing difficulty breathing. Officers and EMS arrived and began to assess the subject at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.
