A group of ducklings found themselves in a precarious situation over the weekend, not only separated from their mother, but stuck in a storm drain.

Witnesses, who saw the mother duck upset that she was unable to reach her ducklings on O Street on Saturday, called police and a group of officers and public works officials got to work.

The officers and Seaside Park Public Works employees were able to open the storm drains and rescue the ducklings, then safely reunite them with their mother. They also received a courtesy escort to make sure sure they got safely back to the bay.
