The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced Thursday that it would close a small portion of the northbound lanes of Route 35 Friday for emergency repairs.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, May 19, the two travel lanes and right shoulder on Route 35 northbound will be closed between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue. One lane will be maintained with traffic shifted to the left shoulder. The closure is necessary for emergency repairs to a dip in the roadway, the DOT said.
Work is expected to be completed late Friday afternoon or early evening.
“Motorists should expect delays and are advised to slow down and use caution when driving through the work zone,” the announcement said. “The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.”
Motorists can check the NJDOT’s traffic information website at www.511nj.org for real-time travel information, the agency said.
