Check Out Last Night’s Spectacular Sunset (But Prepare for Thunderstorms Tonight)




It was a customary Monday evening at Shorebeat – a city council meeting followed by a beautiful summer sunset to finish the day. The video above shows last night’s (July 11, 2022) sunset from Barnegat Bay and the Metedeconk River.

Tuesday night’s weather may be a bit more questionable, according to the National Weather Service.

After a sunny (but breezy) day with a high of 82 degrees, thunderstorms are expected to move in at night, generally before midnight. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds, the NWS said. There will be increasing clouds, with a low around 72, in addition to the thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts are forecast to be between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

The sun will return Wednesday with a high of 83 degrees.
