NWS: Clouds Will Turn to Weekend Sunshine Friday, But Cooler On The Island




The National Weather Service is predicting a sunny weekend following some clouds and showers that made their way through the Shore area Thursday night.

Friday will begin with slight chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 12 noon, before becoming partly sunny, with a high near 80 on the mainland. On the barrier island, the high will be 74 degrees.



Sunny skies will continue into Saturday, with just some scattered clouds in the morning, with a high of 80 degrees on the mainland and 74 degrees on the island. It will be a bit cooler, but still sunny, on Sunday, with mainland high of 74 degrees and an island high of 68 degrees.

The ocean is expected to remain generally calm. Breaking waves should be around 1 foot with a short to medium period swell. There is a low risk for the development of dangerous rip currents today.
