State road crews replaced speed limit signs along Route 35 Friday, ahead of the May 1 turnover of speed limits.
Traffic lights have been activated over the past two weeks by Ocean County as well as the state Department of Transportation. All of the seasonal lights have now been activated.

The bulk of Route 35 has moved from a 40-to-45 m.p.h. zone to a 30-35 m.p.h. zone, depending on the area. The “official” date for the speed limit change is May 1. The speed limits and traffic lights are traditionally deactivated the week following Columbus Day in October.
