Watch: Stunning Scene As Clouds, Fog Layer Race In As Winds Increase at Shore (Plus Your Forecast)





Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, the Jersey Shore area experienced a rapid inbound marine layer ahead of a cold front. With temperatures reaching about 60 degrees, the cooler air brought in thick fog and high winds as it interacted the warmth in place, as well as the cold water temperatures in the ocean and Barnegat Bay.

We sped up our cameras to capture what we thought was a cool view, and we hope you enjoy.

As for the forecast, according to the National Weather Service: a wind advisory remains in effect through 10 a.m. Friday morning. Overnight winds will be sustained at 30 m.p.h. and gusts will reach up to 50 m.p.h.



On Friday, ahowers and thunderstorms are likely before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 9-10 a.m. It will be cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a temperature falling to around 39 degrees by 5 p.m. Breezy, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 45 m.p.h.

Friday night will bring clear skies, however Saturday will bring a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 1 p.m., but otherwise mostly sunny skies.
