Christmas tree lighting ceremonies are being planned in two island communities.
Lavallette
Lavallette will host its annual tree lighting ceremony this Friday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. The event will take place at borough hall, 1306 Grand Central Avenue (Route 35 North). Afterwards, refreshments will be served at Lavallette Elementary School, compliments of the Lavallette Business Association.
“Bring your camera for pictures with Santa,” an announcement said.
Seaside Heights
Seaside Heights will begin a new tradition this year: lighting the Christmas tree at the new carousel building on the boardwalk instead of in front of town hall. The tree lighting ceremony will be held Friday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m.
“Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be stopping by,” Mayor Anthony Vaz said Wednesday.
