Seaside Heights is helping its restaurateurs return to business for the 2021 season by organizing a new restaurant week-style concept in town.

“A Taste of Seaside Heights” will include food and fun the week of May 14-23, according to Michael Redpath, director of the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District.

“As a compact oceanfront resort town, Seaside Heights offers a delightful variety of dining experiences from breakfast through dinner, and cuisines from classic American to Mexican and Italian,” Redpath’s announcement said, recognizing new restaurants that have opened or relocated within the borough in recent years, especially before the coronavirus pandemic began affecting eateries.

Restaurants participating in Restaurant Week are offering everything from breakfast specials to boardwalk fare to upscale dining; rolling out the welcome mat, setting their tables, and offering a Prix Fixe menu to appeal to customers old and new.

“We are seeing a lot of new and revised dining experiences post-Covid in Seaside Heights,” said Angie Lombardi, Chairman of the Board of the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District.

A full list of restaurants and the specials they are offering are featured on a dedicated page of the Seaside Heights tourism website. The restaurants participating are:

  • CheeseSteak Louie’s
  • DJ’s Italian Hot Dog & Sausage House
  • Hook’s Bar & Grill
  • Jimbo’s Bar & Grill
  • Just Breakfast (Jimmy’s Breakfast)
  • Klee’s Bar & Grill
  • Maruca’s Pizza
  • Monte’s Cafe (Authentic Mexican)
  • PJ’s Place (Seafood)
  • Shore Slice Pizza and Grill
  • Spicy Cantina (Mexican Cuisine, Margaritas)

A Veterans’ group will also benefit from the Seaside Heights Restaurant Week. Tito’s Handmade Vodka will donate $2 to Rebuilding Warriors for each featured Tito’s drink purchased from a Restaurant Week restaurant that is licensed to serve alcohol. Rebuilding Warriors provides highly-trained and socialized service and companion dogs to veterans who are amputees or experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

As an added feature of Restaurant Week, diners are encouraged to take a picture of themselves enjoying their meal and post it on their social media with the hashtag #sshrestaurant and the hashtag for the restaurant. They can then enter on the Restaurant Week webpage to win one of five prizes of $50 in restaurant gift cards and two free 2021 Seaside Heights daily beach badge coupons.

“Not only do we have a selection of restaurants that will delight most appetites, but it is also convenient to stroll the beach or the Classic American Boardwalk and enjoy fresh ocean air, shopping, and a variety of amusements,” Redpath said.
