Seaside Heights will hold two public hearings later this month and next month on the projects the borough is submitted for federal grant funding.
The town is obligated to hold the hearing before receiving what is hoped to be about $40,000 in funds for three projects. The projects are:
- Senior citizen outdoor fitness equipment for Kearney Ave and/or Hancock Ave parks.
- Senior citizen recreation (e.g., pickleball court, bocce ball, etc.).
- Economic development project (Boulevard Redevelopment).
The first hearing will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at 5 p.m.; the second hearing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at 5 p.m.
Both hearings will be held in the municipal court room located at the George E. Tompkins Municipal Complex, 901 Boulevard, second floor. The purpose of the hearings is to select and prioritize Community Development Block Grant applications for submittal to Ocean County for funding consideration under the 2021 program.
