The barrier island’s Tri-Boro First Aid Squad is experiencing a shortage of certain cleaning materials for its ambulances, a representative said Friday.
The squad, which is completing its normal runs in addition to serving potential coronavirus patients, must sanitize and disinfect ambulances after each call. Right now, the squad is running low on disinfectant wipes and sprays, and they have asked residents and businesses in the local community if they could share any they may have.
Brick Township’s Target store, for example, donated $300 worth of such supplies earlier in the day on Friday, and some other businesses are expected to donate as well.
“It’s just so nice to see the generosity here,” said Stacey Chait, who is helping to lead the donation campaign. “These guys really need it and appreciate it.”
Anyone who can spare the disinfectant supplies needed is being asked to call Chait at 732-597-6473 or reach her at stacey.chait83@gmail.com.
