New Jersey Lottery officials say a Seaside Heights man is $2 million richer after he purchased a lucky scratch-off ticket.
Andrew Diaz, a borough resident, buys a few scratch-off tickets every few weeks, the state lottery commission said in a statement.
While visiting his regular lottery retailer, he glanced at the $90,000,000 Platinum Payout Scratch-Offs tickets and decided to purchase two of them and left the store. Sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot, Andrew started scratching off his tickets. He didn’t win anything on his first ticket, but had to do a double-take while scratching off the second one.
“Andrew said his heart started racing as he realized this ticket was a big winner,” the state said. “He was ecstatic, but he maintained his composure so as to not make a scene publicly.”
The scratch off ticket, which Diaz signed shortly after, was worth $2 million.
“This is a life- changer,” he said. “Besides my children being born, this is the second-best feeling ever.”
Diaz plans on investing some of his winnings and saving some for his children. He also is thinking about moving to a new house or getting a new car.
The winning ticket was sold at Wawa #931, 220 Route 9, Bayville in Ocean County.
