Casino Pier officials began the year by announcing new rides and arcade attractions in time for summer 2019 – including the return of a fan favorite.
The most major addition to the newly-expanded pier will be the Centrifuge, which is returning after being destroyed by Superstorm Sandy in 2012. The ride is billed as an “indoor Scrambler” with a modern twist. It will feature “pulsating music in a fog of manic multicolored strobe lights during the high- power push-and-pull creating a centrifugal force.”
The pier will also add three new rides geared at young kids, including a Mermaid Parade log flume, which will feature a 130-foot long track and a small drop at the end. The “Elephant Express” will let young riders climb onto the back of an elephant and take flight using a lever control, while the “Crazy Cabs” ride will spin both clockwise and counter-clockwise on an angled, motion-based platform.
In addition to rides, Casino Pier also announced four new midway games. A dart stand, Hang Time, Fish Pond and Cat Rack will be positioned on the boardwalk near the pier entrance.
The new attractions will be in addition to the recently-installed 4K video game “Halo: Fireteam Raven” that was added to the pier’s arcade across the boardwalk. In the game, four players can fight at once against an enemy force to save the galaxy. Players can connect to their personal Halo accounts to link their boardwalk skills to their home console scores.
