Authorities have charged a North Jersey man with the armed robbery of a Lavallette gas station following a five month-long investigation.
According to Lavallette Police Sgt. Justin Lamb, Evan J. Carlock, 26, of Fairview, N.J., was the man behind the June 13 incident, during which a gas attendant at the Kelly’s Sea-Bay Sunoco gas station was approached by the suspect at gunpoint demanding money.
Lamb said Lavallette police were assisted by investigators from the Brick Township and Fairview police departments.
The Lavallette Police Department contacted the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for K9 assistance and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, but a search was unsuccessful in locating the suspect at the time of the initial robbery. Afterward, the longer investigation took place.
