What some are calling a spring nor’easter will bring soaking rain, heavy at times, to the Shore area as well as gusty winds, but will not be a severe storm, according to forecasters.

The foul weather is forecast to move in after 3 a.m. Saturday and last into Sunday morning. At the height of the storm during the Saturday, the rain could be heavy at times and winds could gust to 30 m.p.h. Sustained winds will be 17-25 m.p.h., according to the National Weather Service. Between 1 and 2-inches of rain could fall.

The storm could bring “minor” tidal flooding, the NWS report said.

“It will be breezy (gusts to 30mph) but nothing damaging or destructive or power outage inducing,” said Dan Skeldon, a meteorologist for The Press of Atlantic City, via social media.

The rain will move out Saturday night, but a chance of showers will linger into Sunday, which is Mother’s Day. The rest of the day Sunday will be partly cloudy and breezy. The sun returns on Monday, with temperatures in the 60s, ushering in a week in which temperatures could make it into the 80s.
