Taste of the Barrier island, an event where locals can sample the best food the island has to offer from numerous restaurants, will return this year with the proceeds going to support the Lavallette Fire Company.

Last year, the event was sponsored by the Seaside Rotary Club, which has since disbanded, but the event has been revived by the fire company and will feature many of the area’s most popular restaurants on April 9.

For $30 (adults) or $10 (children 12 and above, those younger than 12 are admitted free) foodies can sample culinary creations from The Crab’s Claw, Lenny’s, Meg’s, Lava Java, Hemingway’s, Klees, Capriccio by the Sea, Chef Mike’s ABG, Ohana Grill, Bum Rogers, Savor, Lavallette Liquors, Bubba’s Burgers, Aqua Blu, Korh’s and Xina. There are also several other local shops participating in the event. There will also be live entertainment and raffles.
