The best traditions of Germany will be coming to Seaside Heights this fall, officials announced recently.
The borough council has approved an “authentic” Oktoberfest event for the weekend of Oct. 1 and 2, 2016, to be run by GPS Productions, a concert and festival organizing company based in New Egypt. The celebration will be located along the Boulevard between DuPont and Blaine avenues.
The Oktoberfest celebration will include musical acts appearing on stage, beer samplings – including two tasting events on both Saturday and Sunday – and a Kids’ Zone which will consist of blowup attractions and face painting. There will also be crafters and food trucks attending.
“We’ll have the same beautiful tents we had on the beach for Wine Fest,” said Mayor Anthony Vaz.
Some streets will be closed for the event, but there will be cross-access reserved on major thorofares, such as Hamilton and Sumner avenues.
