The Dog Days of August will become much more of a literal notion Aug. 26 in Seaside Heights, when the borough will open up its boardwalk and beaches to man’s best friend for a day.
Seaside Heights, like many municipalities around the country, will celebrate National Dog Day. The borough will open its beaches to dogs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dogs will be allowed to walk the entire length of the boardwalk and will be able to hang out on the beachfront between Grant and Webster avenues, officials said.
Dogs must remain on a leash, and beach badges will still be required for humans.
In addition to allowing dogs on the beach, vendors who sell dog and pet-related products will be on hand for beachgoers (and their best friends) to enjoy. The vendors will be located on the boardwalk between Grant and Webster avenues.
