Candidates Running Unopposed for Lavallette, Heights BOE; Challenge in SSP

Two incumbents are running unopposed to retain their positions on the Lavallette Board of Education, according to Ocean County Clerk Scott Colabella, while one newcomer is running in Seaside Heights and a Seaside Park seat is opposed.

Monday was the deadline for candidates to register.



In Lavallette, Lisa Taylor and Michael Valeri are running unopposed for three year terms on the school board. In Seaside Heights, the race is also unopposed, with incumbent Peter Smith running for a three year term, and two newcomers – Andrew Leahy and Raymond Powanda-Carvalho – running for unexpired one-year and two-year terms, respectively.

In Seaside Park, June Korzeneski, Charles Appleby and Michelle L. Miller are running for two, three-year terms on the board.
