The Jersey Shore is preparing for another bout of wintry weather overnight Wednesday into Thursday, this time for a period of accumulating snow followed by a wintry mix and plain rain.
The area closest to the Atlantic Ocean is not included in a winter storm watch that covers most of Pennsylvania and North Jersey. But the National Weather Service is calling for 2-4 inches of snow to fall before rain moves in.
According to the NWS forecast, there will be a slight chance of snow after 4 a.m. Thursday with a low around 27. Snow will continue until about 1 p.m. Thursday, measuring 2-4 inches, before mixing with sleet and rain, then changing to all rain after 4 p.m. The daytime high will reach 35 degrees.
Rain is forecast to continue Thursday night with a low of 34 degrees, continuing into Friday. There is a chance the precipitation will change back to snow late Friday afternoon and Friday night, though no significant accumulations were expected.
