Lavallette is the latest Jersey Shore town to close access to its boardwalk and beaches amidst the ongoing spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The town took several other steps as well, closing access to borough facilities and banning rentals from online services.

An emergency proclamation was signed Thursday by Police Chief Colin Grant, who also serves as the borough’s emergency management coordinator, implementing the order.

The order states that the entire length of the Lavallette boardwalk will remain closed until the governor lifts the state of emergency that is currently in place. It also closes the borough’s playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, and pickle ball courts.
