Several construction and infrastructure projects are slated to begin during the month of March – one this week, officials said.
Work to install new piping along I Street was slated to begin this week, funded and managed by Ocean County. The county’s contractor, Black Rock Enterprises, has asked residents to avoid parking any vehicles on the street between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. while work is underway.
A larger project will come in “mid-March” in the form of the repaving of Ocean Avenue from Porter Avenue to 14th Avenue. The county’s contractor is expected to begin the repaving project following the replacement of water mains along the roadway. The project will also include the re-striping of parking stalls along the oceanfront, which will be completed in partnership with the borough.
Finally, along the bayfront, another project jointly managed by the borough and county will begin the week of March 23, officials said. Funded partially by the state Department of Transportation, Earl Asphalt will place new drainage pipelines along South Bayview Avenue between 11th and 14th Avenues. This project will consist of installing the lines that will be required for the borough’s new pump system that will actively repel water from the roadway. The pump installation will come at a later time.
