Seaside Park police have issued their weekly blotter, representing a sampling of calls to which the department responded in the last week. The total number of calls for service handled by the department was 98.

11/8
Alarm – Police were dispatched to a burglar alarm activation in the area of N St. and Boulevard. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter and did not locate any signs of forced entry. All doors and windows were found to be secure. It was determined the alarm was set off in error.
Welfare Check – Police were dispatched to the area of O St. and Central to conduct a well being check on a male subject. The caller stated he was trying to reach the male for a while and was getting worried for his well-being. Officers arrived and attempted to make contact with the individual. Police were able to find the male on the premises, he was intoxicated but did not need any assistance. The caller was advised of our findings.

Overdose – Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to the area O St. and Lake Ave. for a male overdosing. Police arrived and found the subject unconscious. Officers administered Narcan and the subject began to wake up. EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene. The male was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.

Community Policing – Police were dispatched to the area of L St. and Berkeley Lane for a caller who reported their neighbors garage door malfunctioning, and no one is residing at the residence. Officers arrived and checked things out and nothing appeared to be disturbed. Police secured the garage door and attempted to reach out to the homeowner for notification.
Traffic Violation – Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for a stop sign violation in the area of N St. and Central Avenue. After speaking with the driver, it was learned he was a 14-year-old driving without a license. There was a parent in the vehicle who had a valid license. The driver was issued multiple summonses for the infractions and the parent took over operation of the vehicle.

Dispute – Police responded to the area of J St. and Ocean for a verbal dispute regarding a bill for services that were rendered that the customer did not think was fair. Police arrived and spoke to all individuals involved. The customer said the amount due was higher than the initial quote given by the vendor. The contractor stated the job took longer than anticipated which is why the final bill was higher. Police were able to assist in mediating an agreement and the subjects agreed upon a fair amount to both sides.

Suspicious Person – A caller who has a residence on the ocean block of D St. called police stating they were not at home but observed a male on their camera system on their property who did not have permission to be there. Officers arrived and checked the residence, and everything appeared to be secure, and no subjects were located on the property or in the surrounding area.

Carbon Monoxide Alarm – Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to a carbon monoxide alarm activation. Officers arrived and made sure no one was sick and occupants were out in the fresh air. The fire department arrived and checked the residence with their equipment. The house was found to be safe, and it was determined the alarm was set off in error.
Community Policing – Police were dispatched to the area of H St. and Ocean for a subject who locked her keys in her vehicle. Officers arrived and were able to use a lockout kit to get the vehicle open and help the motorist retrieve her keys.
