Seaside Heights Planning Halloween Celebration on the Boardwalk With Free Carousel Rides

Ghosts and goblins may be patrolling the Seaside Heights boardwalk later this month – and you might catch them taking a ride on the historic carousel as well.

The borough’s Business Improve District will be hosting its first Halloween Boardwalk Costume Contest Oct. 26. The event, according to the BID, will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the boardwalk near the Carteret Avenue stage, and at the nearby Carousel Pavilion.

The costume contest and celebration will include prizes, candy, games and more. The borough, which approved the event Wednesday, will offer free rides on the historic carousel to all children in costume. Dogs will be allowed on the boardwalk at the event as well (and they will have their own costume prize category), though they cannot enter the pavilion.
