Ghosts and goblins will be patrolling the Seaside Heights boardwalk this weekend – and you might catch them taking a ride on the historic carousel as well.
The borough’s Business Improve District will be hosting its first Halloween Boardwalk Costume Contest Oct. 26. The event, according to the BID, will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the boardwalk near the Carteret Avenue stage, and at the nearby Carousel Pavilion.
The costume contest and celebration will include prizes, candy, games and more. The borough, which approved the event Wednesday, will offer free rides on the historic carousel to all children in costume. Dogs will be allowed on the boardwalk at the event as well (and they will have their own costume prize category), though they cannot enter the pavilion.
Prices for best costume will be given out to several age groups (1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each group!):
- 0-2 years old
- 3-5 years old
- 6-8 years old
- 9-12 years old
