A borough man has been charged with having committed a rash of 25 acts of vandalism by spraying graffiti on buildings, benches and other objects around Lavallette last week.

Brandon S. Novak, 33, of Lavallette, was charged with criminal mischief as a result of an investigation into the 25 acts of graffiti that were discovered throughout the Borough of Lavallette on Oct. 22, 2024, Police Chief Christian LaCicero said Thursday.

Novak, on Thursday, was taken into custody by members of the Lavallette Police Department at his residence. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he is presently lodged pending a detention hearing. There was no word on what may have motivated the slew of incidents, which targeted numerous local businesses, vehicles and several of the new benches that the borough had recently purchased.
