Two Months of Roadwork to Begin in Seaside Park This Week With Gas Main Replacements

Seaside Park residents will contend with gas main replacement work that is estimated to take between eight and 10 weeks to complete.

According to borough officials, New Jersey Natural Gas will be replacing the existing gas main and services on Farragut Avenue, Stockton Avenue, and Decatur Avenue from Central to Lake avenues. Mains will also be replaced on Lake Avenue from Lafayette to Farragut avenues.



The work will be completed by J.F. Kiely Construction Company, the contractor utilized by NJNG. The construction is expected to start “on or around” Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 and continue for the eight to 10 week period.

Residents with questions are asked to call New Jersey Natural Gas Customer Service at 800-221-0051.

A separate project was due to begin this week on South Bayview Avenue, which will be raised and repaved between 8th and 14th avenues. The project includes roadway milling, grading, and paving, storm drainage improvements, driveway, sidewalk, and curb reconstruction, soil and sediment controls, roadway striping, and yard restoration. It is anticipated that the construction will last 60 to 90 days.
