Seaside Park Police Blotter: HIt-And-Run by the Ocean, Skinny Dipping, Hard (Beach) Day’s Night

Seaside Park police have issued their latest blotter, representing a sampling of calls to which the department responded over the last week. The total calls for service handled by the department during the same period was 379.

First Aid – While on patrol in the area of Porter Ave. and Ocean, officers were flagged down by a subject who was experiencing chest pain. Tri-Boro First Aid Squad arrived, and the subject was assessed at the scene by EMS and was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.

Welfare Check – While on patrol in the area of O St. and Lake Ave., officers observed a female lying on the sand near the park after hours. Police made contact with the subject to make sure she was okay. The female was fine and did not require any medical attention. She was given a safe escort home by the police.

Hit and Run – While on patrol in the area of municipal lot 2 a.m., the officer assigned to parking enforcement observed a vehicle hit a parked car and leave the scene. The officer wrote down the registration and advised a senior officer. They were able to locate the actor vehicle and issued the driver summonses for leaving the scene and failure to report an accident.

Harassment – Police responded to the area of G St. and Central for a report of a female who rode up on an electric bicycle and began to harass her former boyfriend. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller regarding the incident and gathered all the information needed to generate a report. The female was gone upon police arrival. The caller was advised how to proceed with complaints if he wished to do so.

Fire Alarm – Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the area of G St. and Central for a fire alarm activation. Police arrived and checked the exterior and did not observe any visible smoke or flames. The fire department arrived and were able to make entry into the residence and used their equipment to determine the house was safe. It was determined the alarm was faulty and was set off in error.

Borough Ordinance Violation – While on patrol on the Stockton Ave. Beach, officers observed two males nude in the ocean swimming. Police made contact with the subjects and advised them to get dressed and advised them of the borough ordinance. Both individuals were issued a borough summons for the violation.

Alarm – Police responded to the area of 13th and Ocean Ave. for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the residence and did not observe any signs of forced entry. Police did locate subjects inside the residence. It was determined that they were authorized to be at the property and the alarm went off in error after the wrong code was entered.

Intoxicated Subject – Police were dispatched to L St. Beach for a report of a female passed out in the sand. Officers arrived and located the female, who was intoxicated and appeared to be disoriented. She was unable to answer questions and seemed “off” overall. Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded and spoke to the female who was unable to give appropriate answers to their questions. She was transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.
