Lavallette continued its “Movies on the Bay” series this week with “Under the Boardwalk” at the gazebo on the bay beach, drawing a large crowd of residents and visitors as the summer season reaches its home stretch.

Councilwoman Anita Zalom snapped a few photos of the event and shared them with Shorebeat. There is one more bayside movie showing this season as well as three more weekly concerts on the bay before the summer events end as Labor Day Weekend approaches.

Movies on the Bay begin after sunset – or about 8:30 p.m. – every Tuesday night. The final movie will be shown at the Lavallette Gazebo at Philadelphia Avenue next Tuesday, Aug. 20. “The Little Mermaid” will close out the season.

Additionally, the borough’s summer concert series – held each Sunday at the gazebo at 7 p.m. – will continue for a few more weeks:

  • Aug. 18, 2024: Underwater Airlines Band & WWO Horns
  • Aug. 25, 2024: “Thirty Fifth Annual” Band Bootcamp
  • Sept. 1, 2024: We’ll Be Fine

The summer concert series is funded in part by a grant from Ocean County.
