Seaside Heights officials have slightly changed the start times of several borough council meetings that are scheduled for the summer months.

At recent meetings, some residents have said council meeting begin too early – 5 p.m. – while officials have said they received similar complaints when meetings were previously held later in the evening. Ultimately, the council determined to make a slight modification to the times when meetings will be held during the summer months.

Normally, a caucus meeting begins at 4 p.m. in a conference room adjacent to the courthouse. About half of this meeting is taken up by an executive session where matters such as personnel and those covered under attorney-client privilege are discussed in a closed format. The meeting is then opened to the public in a roundtable-style setting, which is rarely attended by the public despite being open.
