Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, which represents a sampling of calls to which the department responded in the past week. In total, the department handled 172 calls for service during the period.

5/31
Intoxicated Subject – Police and First Aid were dispatched to assist a male who was laying on the ground. Officers arrived and assessed the male who was highly intoxicated. The subject was unable to respond appropriately or leave under their own power. The victim was transported to Community Medical Center by Lavallette EMS.

Alarm – Police responded to the area of Farragut Avenue and Ocean for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter of the building. No signs of forced entry were observed. Everything was found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

Disturbance – Police were dispatched to the area of Lafayette and Ocean for a report of a loud argument. Officers arrived and located the male and female who were arguing. Officers spoke to both parties, who were both intoxicated, and advised them they were creating a disturbance. Police were able to mediate the argument and they agreed to keep the noise down for the remainder of the night.

Arrest – While on patrol in the area of Stockton and Ocean Avenue Officers stopped a vehicle for some ordinance violations. While conducting the stop the driver appeared to be impaired and the odor of marijuana was observed as well as open containers of marijuana in the vehicle. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and it was determined that the driver was impaired and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Disturbance – Police were dispatched to Decatur and Central Ave for a male and female arguing. Officers arrived and located the couple and separated both parties. Police mediated the argument and gave the male a safe ride home to help quell the situation.
Community Policing – While on patrol in the area of Lafayette and Boulevard Officers were flagged down for a vehicle with an open door. Officers went and checked the vehicle, and no forced entry was observed, and nothing appeared to be disturbed. Police were able to locate the owner and the vehicle was secured.

Theft – Police responded to the area of Farragut and Central for a report of a stolen license plate. Officers arrived and spoke to the owner of the vehicle whose front license plate was stolen. The owner was certain it was stolen since she received a bill from EZ Pass for tolls and charges they did not make. Officers gathered all the information needed to generate a report and the plate was entered stolen into the NCIC system.
Landlord Tenant – A subject walked into police headquarters to make a report of a landlord tenant issue. The complainant stated the landlord was attempting to change the terms of their lease. Police advised the caller of their rights as a tenant and gathered all the information needed to generate a report. Officers advised the subject of complaint procedures.
