Seaside Park Police Blotter: Bad Behavior With Warrants, ‘Donuts’ Spoil a Sunset

Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, representing a sampling of calls to which the department recently received. The total number of calls the department handled over the last week was 274.

First Aid – Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad were dispatched to help a victim that had fallen and could not get back up. Officers and EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.

Arrest – While on patrol in the area of North Avenue and Central Officers observed a motorist committing several motor vehicle violations. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop and spoke to the driver. While conducting their investigation it was determined that the driver’s license was suspended and had two warrants out for his arrest from other jurisdictions. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.

Alarm – Police responded to the area of N St. and the Boulevard for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter of the residence and did not locate any signs of forced entry. All doors and windows were found to be secure. It was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

Verbal Dispute – Police were dispatched to the area of O St. and Ocean Avenue for a report of a loud verbal argument between a male and female. Officers arrived and located the subjects involved. Police separated the parties and investigated the situation. Officers were able to mediate the situation. The subjects decided to go the separate ways and police stood by until they left.

Community Policing – While on patrol in the area of 13th and Central Ave. Officers observed an unattended vehicle with one of its doors ajar. Police checked the vehicle and did not observe any signs of forced entry or anything suspicious. Police were unable to locate the owner and secured the vehicle.



Arrest – Police were dispatched to the area of Porter and Ocean Ave. for a report of a male and female yelling and fighting. Officers arrived and located the individuals involved and separated both parties. After further investigation it was determined that the female attacked the male during their argument. The female subject was placed under arrest. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and charged with simple assault and released.

Dispute – Police responded to the area of M St. and the Boulevard for a dispute between two former household members. Officers arrived and spoke to both individuals regarding the incident. The homeowner advised the relative no longer resided there and was no longer authorized to be at the property. Police gathered the information needed to generate a report. Both parties were advised how to sign complaints in this matter if they wanted to.

Criminal Mischief – Police were dispatched to the area of 14th and Bayview Ave. for a report of damage to several motor vehicles. Officers arrived and spoke to the victims who were there watching the sunset with some classmates. The victims stated that a few others that were there began to drive recklessly doing donuts which kicked up a lot of rocks and debris. The rocks and debris damaged several vehicles causing dents, scratches, and shattering one rear window. Witnesses provided information on one driver. This matter is still under investigation.
