The U.S. Coast Guard said Friday morning that crews were searching for one of three men who were plunged into Manasquan Inlet after 8 p.m. Thursday night when their 31-foot boat capsized.
Two of the three men on board were rescued after reportedly shouting to people onshore that their boat capsized. Waves at the inlet are especially largely due to the passing of Hurricane Lee offshore. A third man was not found, and authorities spent the night and the morning hours Friday searching for him and recovering debris from the imperiled vessel.

“Our crews, as well as other outside agencies, are working hard to locate the remaining missing person and to collect debris from the accident,” the Coast Guard said in a statement Friday morning. “We kindly ask the boating public to please give the rescue crews the time and space we need to complete this mission. We also ask that the public please refrain from spreading false information regarding the accident.”
