Seaside Park is celebrating the 125th anniversary of its founding this year, with one of the highlights being a parade and all-day festival to follow this Saturday.
The Aug. 12 parade kicks off at 11 a.m. (changed from an earlier schedule) and will run along Bayview Avenue from 5th Avenue to the marina lawn at I Street.
Following the parade will be the “Town Fair” celebration, featuring craft vendors, a petting zoo, food trucks and tents, a beer garden, and live music. The town fair will be held from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
“There will be a number of bands, and many of them have rave reviews already,” said Mayor John A. Peterson. “A lot of exciting things that everyone has been looking forward to will be going on. It should be fun.”
The previously-advertised parade route also changed slightly, so as not to interfere with activity at the town’s boat ramp at 13th Avenue on a busy Saturday.
