With plans that include continued redevelopment, investments from major builders and a potential new hotel on the horizon in Seaside Heights, the long-term transformation plan the borough has eyed for so long has seemed within closer reach in recent years.

Residents and members of the community will be able to share their ideas – and have their say on those long term plans – at a Community Visioning meeting that officials have set for Aug. 7.

The meeting will “engage residents in developing a consensus on what their community should look like 20 years from now; where the community seems to be heading; and what has been done to achieve the desired vision.”

The Community Visioning Workshop is part of the Plan Endorsement process with the New Jersey State Office of Planning Advocacy. Plan Endorsement is a voluntary review process designed to ensure the coordination of state, county, and municipal planning efforts in achieving the goals and policies of the State Planning Act for growing communities – especially those overseeing redevelopment efforts.

Some of the specific topics to be explored include land use and redevelopment, housing, recreation, transportation and circulation, community facilities, and economic development.

The meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 7, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the municipal courtroom annex at 116 Sherman Avenue.
