It’s still July, but the “dog days” of summer seem to have arrived. It was lazy, hazy, but not too crazy Monday night on Barnegat Bay, with a sunset that snuck behind a low cloud layer strategically before the “official” sunset time. Still, there are always some cool sites to explore on a hazy night with the sun hiding in the background, and we hope you enjoy our short video tour above.
While sunny skies will dominate the week, the National Weather Service forecast is calling for some periods of stormy weather. The NWS forecast appears below:
Tuesday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a slight chance of showers between 1am and 2am. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 83. West wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 90.
