It was hazy, but we’ll take it. After days of smoke from Canadian wildfires blocking the sun, to overcast skies and occasional rain showers over the weekend, Sunday night was a breath of fresh air – figuratively and literally – for the Shore area, with a warm sunset that looked like the “dog days” of late summer.
The video above and the photos below share what we happened to capture.
The National Weather Service, however, is predicting much more seasonable weather for the week, which will begin with some precipitation.
According to the NWS:
Monday: A chance of showers before 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Southeast wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Monday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1am and 2am. Patchy fog. Low around 60. South wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. West wind around 10 mph.
Wednesday: A chance of showers overnight and into the morning, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.
