New 18-Unit Townhome Development Planned for Seaside Heights-Seaside Park Border

Among the development projects in the works in Seaside Heights is an 18-unit townhome complex eyed for a vacant piece of land currently being used as a parking lot on the border with Seaside Park.

The multi-building development will be known as “1 Ocean Terrace” after its address at the intersection of Porter Avenue and Ocean Terrace, which is renamed North Ocean Avenue midway across the street.

“This new 18-unit townhome development will be the only one of its kind, with amazing direct ocean views and multiple balconies and private rooftop decks,” explained real estate broker Mike Loundy, who is helping to shepherd the project along. “These large units will be amazing vacation residences and very desirable family rentals just feet from the beautiful Seaside beaches.”

The development will be located amidst a unique area, roughly across from the new Ocean Club restaurant, pier and cabana facility, with the full Seaside Heights boardwalk to the north and the quieter Seaside Park boardwalk to the south. Across the street, a number of specialty eateries have been built in recent years, along with the private Funtown Beach under Seaside Park’s jurisdiction.

According to tax records, the property will consist of a swath of land that technically spans two lots – both used as a combined, unpaved parking facility at the northern corner of Ocean Terrace and Porter Avenue. Both were purchased by a Lakewood-based developer in August 2022.
