A Cold, Beautiful Bay: Powerful Sunset Portends Back-And-Forth Weather Week





The holiday Monday will be sunny with a seasonable high of 46 degrees, but generally cantankerous –not stormy, but certainly not nice – weather patterns are going to be the highlight of the week ahead. Meanwhile, the sun set behind an overcast sky on Barnegat Bay Sunday night, producing glimpses of light that make for some amazing photos. We captured a bit, and shared it in the video above and photos below.

The forecast, however, is less impressive.

Weather Forecast:

After a sunny and chilly day Monday with a high of 46 degrees, increasingly clouds are expected to move in with a low of 34 degrees at night, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday will bring a slight chance of rain after 1 p.m., otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Clouds will continue to be in place Tuesday night with a low of 41 degrees.

The sun will make a return appearance Wednesday with a high of 52, before clouds move in again toward the end of the day, bringing a rain storm with them.

On Thursday, it will be rainy with a high of 50. The rain will be steady for the entire day. Sun may return Friday, however.
