The Lavallette Union Church last weekend held the first of several fundrasiers aimed at raising money to assist victims of Hurricane Ian in southwest Florida.
The church’s event on Saturday, “Paint and Pastries,” was the first of its kind. The group of residents will also host a “Bake Sale/Book Swap” on Nov. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. and a “Paint and Pizza” event, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The fundrasiers will support residents of the Ft. Meters, Fla. area which was devastated by Hurricane Ian in September. Members of Union Church will be traveling to Florida in January with a group of volunteers to help “rebuild and minister to those in need,” an announcement said. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will be used to assist victims with rebuilding their homes and businesses, it went on to say.
If you can’t make it to any of the fundrasiers, there are other ways to donate, the church said:
- By check payable “Union Church of Lavallette” (be sure to write “Hurricane Ian Relief” in the memo area) mail to Union Church of Lavallette, 25 Philadelphia Avenue, Lavallette, NJ 08735.
- Donate online by visiting www.GiveSendGo.com and search for “G9CB8”
