The state Department of Transportation will close two lanes of the Route 37 westbound Tunney Bridge for priority deck repairs beginning Monday.
The agency said Friday that the closures will begin 7 a.m. Monday, June 13, until 4 p.m. and continuing daily, Monday through Thursday, until Thursday, June 23.
NJDOT’s contractor, PKF-Mark III, Inc., is scheduled to close the two right lanes on the Route 37 westbound Tunney Bridge for priority bridge deck repairs. The Route 37 eastbound Mathis Bridge traffic will not be affected.
The work is part of a $9.6 million statewide Drawbridge Preventative Maintenance Contract. Variable messaging signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the motoring public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work, the department said.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors, according to the DOT. Motorists are encouraged to check the department’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information or the NJDOT Facebook page.
