Those May flowers better be worth it!
True to the years-old meme, the first full week of April will bring rainy weather to the Jersey Shore following a gloomy day Monday that was punctuated with a stunning sunset in the evening (see our 1-minute video of the sunset above… toggle for 4K!). The National Weather Service is predicting a week characterized by clouds, showers and occasional thunderstorms.
The forecast is as follows:
Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 51. Southeast wind 5 to 10 m.p.h. At night, rain and thunderstorms are likely before 8 p.m., then rain and possibly a thunderstorm between until 2 a.m., followed by more steady rain into the morning.
On Wednesday, rain will continue through 2 p.m. Skies will otherwise be cloudy, and a quarter to a half-inch of rain may fall. A chance of rain will continue until 8 p.m., then there will be a slight chance of showers after 2 a.m. The gray skies continue Thursday, when there will be a chance of showers, then a more steady run of rainfall and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m.
The skies won’t be clear for Friday, either, with the NWS predicting a chance of showers before 8 a.m., then a chance of showers after 2 p.m. There could be some small breaks of sun late in the day. Partly sunny skies with a high of 54 degrees will come Saturday.
