Both Seaside Heights and Seaside Park will activate their parking meter systems come this Friday, April 1.
The two island towns both operate large networks of digital parking meter systems, and in both towns, motorists are charged to park between April 1 and Oct. 31.
In Seaside Heights, parking is $3 per hour for street end spaces, and $2 per hour throughout the rest of the town’s metered spaces. Street ends are the paved areas between Ocean Terrace and the boardwalk.
In Seaside Park, the fee is $1 per hour beginning 7 a.m. on Mondays through 7 p.m. Fridays, excluding holidays. The price is $2 per hour beginning 7 p.m. on Fridays through 7 a.m. on Mondays.
Notably, visitors should take notice that the parking fees will be in effect in time for this weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which was rescheduled from March.
Both towns use the mPay2park app for iOS and Android smartphones which allows visitors to “feed the meter” without returning to their cars. Seaside Heights replaced all of its coin-operated systems last season.
