Watch for Ice Monday Morning (But Also Watch The Sunset on the Bay Last Night)

Forecasters with the National Weather Service are advising motorists to be careful Monday morning and practice caution due to the potential for icy spots after some overnight rain or freezing rain.

“The freezing drizzle may result in icy spots on any untreated roadways or sidewalks leading to slippery conditions,” a statement said. “Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution.”

The overnight low in Ocean County reached 31 degrees. Once temperatures rise Monday, the threat of ice will wane, with the afternoon high forecast to reach 40 degrees amidst rainy weather. The rain will generally come as drizzle during the day, then become a steadier rainfall after 4 p.m. The rain will move out overnight, giving way to sun on Tuesday with a high of 44 degrees.

With that out of the way, please check out the short video of last night’s sunset on Barnegat Bay from the Mantoloking Bridge in Brick Township. We went with some speedy edits and effects. Hope you enjoy!
