Watch: Deep Blue Evening Sky Dazzles Over the Toms River (Warmth on the Way)

In between Wednesday’s Ocean County Commissioners meeting at 4 p.m. and the Toms River Township committee at 6 p.m. – was sunset! Having spent quite a bit of time on the east side of Barnegat Bay recently (which, admittedly, makes sense for sunsets) we relaxed and took a break in Island Heights along the boardwalk to check things out.

There was quite a crowd – even in February – and the views of the sky didn’t disappoint. Adding to the good news, milder temperatures are on the way for the next few days.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday’s high is forecast to be 55 degrees, a full 12 degrees above average, alongside sunny skies. It will be breezy, however, later in the day with light winds increasing to 20 m.p.h. in the afternoon. The winds will subside at nightfall.

Friday, likewise, will be sunny with a high of 51 degrees. Saturday’s high will rebound to 55 degrees with partly sunny skies. Rain showers are expected to move in Saturday night into Sunday morning, when a cold front moves through that could produce a wintry mix at some point.
