Seaside Park Police Blotter: Nov. 19, 2021

Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, a list of incidents over the past week representative of the calls to which the department has responded. So far this week, the department has fielded a total of 265 calls for service.

Arrest – Police responded to the area of Stockton and Ocean for a report of an assault on an employee of the Sawmill. Officers arrived and began to sort out the scene and located the parties involved. The subject who was uncooperative with police was located walking down Ocean Ave. The victim was located inside with a visible injury to his face and eye. Witnesses advised police that the subject was attempting to leave with an alcoholic beverage and was being not they could not and punched the employee in the face. The victim was assessed at the scene by Tri-Boro First Aid Squad. The male suspect was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters for processing, and was charged with simple assault.

Theft- Police were dispatched to the area of Decatur and Ocean for a reported theft of a package. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller and gathered the information needed to generate a report. It appears the package was delivered but was taken from the porch prior to someone being home to retrieve it. Officers canvassed the area for cameras that may have captured any footage of the incident. This matter is under investigation. With this time of year bringing an influx of packages please be mindful of any deliveries you may be expecting!

Alarm- Police were called to a burglar alarm activation in the area of Decatur and Ocean. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter and observed no signs of forced entry. Upon further investigation they located a subject at the property. They were authorized to be there, and it was determined they set the alarm off in error.

 

 

First Aid- Officers and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to a male subject who was laying on the ground in the area of O St. and Boulevard. After being assessed at the scene it was determined the subject was highly intoxicated. They were transported to Community Medical Center by EMS for medical treatment.

 

 

Noise Complaint- Police responded to the area of K St. and Central for a noise complaint. Officers arrived and located the origin of the noise. Officers spoke to the subjects at the scene and advised them their music was too loud and advised them of borough ordinances.

 

 

 

Threats- Police responded to the area of Stockton and the Boulevard for a female subject stated a male pointed a firearm at her and threatened her. Officers arrived and located both parties. The male was still in the residence and the caller had fled outside. Officers spoke to both individuals and gathered information needed to generate a report. No injuries were sustained, and no firearm was recovered from the scene. The individuals were separated for the night and this matter is under further investigation.

Well Being Check- Police were dispatched to the area of 11th and Central for a well being check. The caller stated their friend was not answering their call and they did not show up at an appointment they were supposed to have attended. Officers arrived at the scene and began to attempt to make contact with the subject. Police were able to locate the subject and they were fine. The caller was notified of our findings.

 

 

Reckless Driving- While on patrol Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed south on Central Ave. The vehicle was clocked traveling 74 miles per hour. The driver was stopped and issued motor vehicle summons for speeding and reckless driving.
