Police in Lavallette have arrested a North Jersey teen who they say nearly struck multiple pedestrians, then eluded police.

Joshua Vega, 19, of Jersey City, was charged with second degree eluding and a slew of traffic violations Wednesday. Police charged him after he nearly hit several pedestrians in the roadway with his vehicle, Sgt. Justin Lamb said. He then refused to stop for “multiple motor vehicle offenses” when police attempted to pull him over.

Vega was ultimately apprehended by Lamb in Mantoloking.
