Construction on a new playground has been completed in Seaside Heights, adjacent to the Hugh J. Boyd Elementary School.
The $70,000 cost of the project was completely funded by preschool funds from the state, officials said, and also represented a partnership between the local elementary school district and the borough.
“We said to them, ‘you can take over the basketball court,'” explained Mayor Anthony Vaz. “They’ll maintain those two entities, and they’ll mow it, clean it up, and it’s going to be very nice.”
The playground features the usual attractions, from swings to slides. Upon its completion, it will be open to the community as a whole.
