Seaside Heights has created a new program to help senior citizens and military veterans sign up to receive vaccinations for coronavirus, officials announced Wednesday at a meeting of the borough council.

While the registration will not guarantee an appointment in the short-term, borough officials said the program will allow those who do not regularly use computers to place their name on waiting lists.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, Seaside Heights residents over age 65 or who have served in the military can call 732-793-9100, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and ask for MaryKate.

The borough’s representative will be able to help those who have not already registered place their name on a list for vaccination.

Neighboring Seaside Park is expected to introduce its own similar program soon after the borough council provided its endorsement last week.
